Case Study

Citizen Health

Senior growth & product consultant at a healthcare startup. 10-month engagement across growth engineering, product, and partnerships.

📋 Overview

Citizen Health is a healthcare technology company focused on connecting patients with clinical trials and advocacy resources. I joined as a consultant and over 10 months the role grew from targeted growth tasks to working on onboarding flows, partnership pages, analytics, and cross-functional launches.

💡 Context

Healthcare startups have unique constraints — HIPAA, complex user journeys, partnerships with Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs), and stakeholders ranging from patients to pharmaceutical companies. The growth challenge wasn't just conversion rate optimization — it was building trust with vulnerable populations while satisfying investor expectations for metrics.

🛠 Tech Stack

Webflow React Salesforce Amplitude Auth0 HubSpot Sendgrid Intercom

🧠 Key Contributions

✓ Onboarding CVR

More than doubled the patient onboarding conversion rate through systematic funnel analysis, UX improvements, and removing friction points like unnecessary identity verification (Persona removal — months of alignment work that paid off).

⚡ Partnership Landing Pages

Conceptualized and implemented custom landing pages for Patient Advocacy Group partnerships — each tailored to a specific disease community with unique messaging, trust signals, and onboarding flows.

✓ Growth Operations

Ran standups, coordinated cross-functional launches, managed email infrastructure (Sendgrid/HubSpot/Salesforce integration), and owned Amplitude analytics implementation across the platform.

⚡ Patient App

Led the patient-facing app reskin and contributed to the broader patient app roadmap — balancing new feature requests against existing technical debt and user needs.

🎯 Role

Senior Growth & Product Consultant. Started at 3 days/week and grew into a near-full-time engagement. Led a team including engineers and collaborated with growth, marketing, and executive stakeholders. The role spanned growth engineering, product management, and technical leadership.
